Brown-hooded Parrot (Pionopsitta haematotis)
Habits:Frequents forest canopy and edges,adjacent semi-open and tall second growth,avoiding extensiv open country.
Status:Resident throughout Caribbean lowlands and in Pacific lowlands from Parrita area and Valle del Genera S,breeding locally to ca.5250ft on adjacent mountain slopes,largely withdrawing to lower elevations following breeding;fairly common in partly or entirely forested districts.
Range: SE Mexico to W Ecuador.
