Hi Everyone,

I'm fairly new to birding so hoping to pick up lots of information here. Delighted to see there are at least a few people in my area in Ireland too. I live close to river, estuary and sea and there are decent woods close to my garden so no shortage of birds... Best recent garden sightings were a pair of Bulfinches (at the weekend) and prior to that a female sparrowhawk drying her wings and preening in one of the birches.
I also spend time in France where I get to see Harriers, Buzzards and Honey Buzzards among others. I still haven't quite sorted out the latter two though !

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure you will find lots to interest you here, and I hope that you enjoy your visits.

Hi Zizi and a warm welcome from me too
