Hi, what sound have you lost, just sound from CDs & DVDs, just sound from You Tube? Do you hear the Windows theme when you start up and close down your system? Are you not getting sounds of any sort from your computer? Have you tried different speakers or are the speakers getting power ok, have you tried your current speakers on another computer? Have you tried using a set of headphones plugged into the speaker jack at all? Just trying to narrow it down a bit.

I've had a similar problem on my XP computer in the past, solved first time by downloading a codec (not sure how I found it). Second time I had to go into the registry and change a 1 to a 0 or vice versa.
