today went trout fishing on local private loch in dumfries and galloway and saw the most spectacular sight of an osprey i quickly reeled in and grabbed the binos and watched for half an hour as he perched on a tree 150-200 yds away he then took of scanning the loch for fish but he took to the trees again
and i lost him after that.talking to some fishermen over lunch in the boathouse said there was a pair of them yesterday and actually wittnesed the taking of fish,other sightins today kingfisher,heron canada geese,house martins,swifts,mallard,buzzard, never caught a fish but the sight of my first osprey certainly made up for it who needs to go to loch garten when you can see them on your doorstep.
