NW UK - Gull confusion (1 Viewer)

Typical - I don't feel the need to use this worthy ID forum for months then I go looking at gulls and get all confused :) Collins hasn't quite got the illustrations to make me 100%

I think this week I have:

[1] Unusually thin headed BHG [bill wrong for anything else?]

[2] Dark Common Gull with a thinner beak than normal?

[3] Rather small LBB - or could it be a YLG?

[4] A mean looking HG possibly argentatus [eye wrong for Caspian?] but primary pattern not quite as Collins for either

Any/all assistance appreciated on this Christmas eve!

Yep, 1-3 correct, not particularly unusual. 4 could well be argenteus (too much black for standard argentatus with black reaching P5, one relatively small mirror etc.

Cheers

Pete
