White Cape Verde Barn Owl !!!! (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

While guiding a trip in Cape-Verde, I found a almost all white local Barn Owl Tyto (alba) detorta in central Santiago. Except a few spots on the mantle and upperwing coverts, it is all pure white; a veru leucistic bird. Quite spectacular...

All clients have seen, but in the dark photos are very poor. I´ll try again tonight; the bird seems to be seen everzday in the village (according to locals) and paired with a "normal" one.

We have now seen all endemic taxons except Falco (peregrinus) madens.

Cheers
