Siskin flight call? - UK (1 Viewer)

Birds 4ever

Is it just me or do non-birders see rare birds you
I'm terrible on bird songs and calls - but the other day I heard what I think are siskins.

About 5-10(memory not clear, but SEVERAL) finches flew over me. It had a high pitched 'smooth' cheeee!/peeeee! call.

I'm suspecting siskin, for the call and the fact it was in a small flock, which sounds unlikely for other finches.

What do you think?

Your description does sound like Siskin, though without hearing it myself I can't be 100%, but odds on you are right.

Siskin is a very very clear Pee-ooo, with the ooo of a lower pitch. one of Redpoll's flight calls is hooo-eee where the eee is higher, though they more often use a sort of buzzing and rolling chhh-chhh-chhh-chhh
