Birding in Asturias (1 Viewer)

Leading a life of quiet desperation
I'm off on a family holiday in July to Villaviciosa in Asturias. Has anyone birded in the area? I can't find much information in trip reports other than references to the Picos mountains and the high altitude birds at Fuente De.

The Ria Villaviciosa looks as if it is potentially good as it is a nature reserve with some marsh. I guess mid July won't be the best time to look.

I've found more information on butterflies and it looks a really good area for them so I'd better start to learn the likely species

Any information gratefully received

Hi Mark,

Villaviciosa is a nice nature reserve. As you guessed, July is not the best time to look for birds...
Anyway, take a look here and here (sorry, in Spanish).
Hope this helps.
