Bug nymph? (1 Viewer)

I found this on a silver birch in central Berks last week - does anyone have any idea what it is? 10mm long approx.

It's a giant willow aphid, Tuberolachnus salignus. That black protuberance on its back is a distinctive characteristic.Were there willows or poplars around?
 
Thank you very much - I never even thought about aphids! Yes, there are plenty of willows at this location.
