Hey all,

Just finished up about 2 weeks in the Philippines. The goal of the trip was to see all the specialties of Panay and Tablas as well as pick up a few birds around Manila. Overall it was a very successful trip with lots of highlights.

Panay: Negros-bleeding Heart, Panay Striped-babbler, Walden's Hornbill, Southern Indigo-banded Kingfisher, Yellow-faced Flameback, White-throated Jungle-Flycatcher

Tablas: Romblon Boobook, Tablas Bulbul, Tablas Drongo, Tablas Fantail, Mantanani Scops-owl, Dimorphic Dwarf-kingfisher

Manila: Philippine Eagle-Owl, Ashy Thrush, common Luzon endemics

The first blog post covering Panay has just been posted. Panay is an intense, but rewarding place to bird. Lots of very difficult hikes, but the birds are fantastic. Hopefully I'll get the second post on soon.

Off to Indonesia now....

Tablas and Manila

Hey all,

The second blog post from our time in the Philippines has been posted. Highlights included fantastic views and recordings of Romblon Boobook and Mantanani's Scops-Owl on Tablas and some great Manilia birds such as Philippine Eagle-Owl and Ashy Thrush.

In other news, we just finished cleaning up on Sumba in two days so be on a lookout for a post on that soon!

Best,

Ross
