Little Egret again over Coney this evening.

Hirundines virually non-existant most of today so c25 House Martins over this evening around High Park was a decent count. Two or three Swallows earlier in the day around Harford Hill and Ladywood were the only other summer migrants seen except a few Chiffchaffs (some singing) plus a few Blackcaps.

Meadow Pipits in various places.

Tawny Owl calling this evening around Salwarpe and Water Rail calling at Coney. Around 30 Pied Wagtails roosted.

No - I've seen a few here over the past 5 years or so - the largest single flock I've had was 4 together.

Previous sightings of Hawfinch on the patch:

7th October, 2012 (4, Coney Meadow)
13th October, 2012 (2, Coney Meadow)
31st October, 2015 (1, Coney Meadow)

The above are my personal observations. In addition, I saw several possible flyovers in October, 2012 (e.g. over Copcut and over Droitwich Woods).

Brian Stretch saw a Hawfinch in December, 2005 in Salwarpe Churchyard (I think whilst looking for a Firecrest) and I think Steve Whitehouse saw or heard one around the same time also.
