Norfolk: other insects (1 Viewer)

Also as there are spiders on this thread... Last week I found a Nigma walckenaeri in a garden near Swaffham. Looking online there do not seem to be many Norfolk records but no doubt it is greatly under recorded. A nice little spider just wish I had got some better photos of it. Record shot below (will replace with a better shot when on my PC).

Is there a decent guide and/or key?

I'd wait for the new WILDGuide, "Britain's Spiders", Jim: due Spring 2017.

If it's up to the standards of their others, it'll become our standard field guide (pace the Collins, which includes Northern Europe) and will have more UK-specific info than any other, I understand.

There is a cheap FSC chart, too - by one of the authors of the new guide.

(I know we shouldn't 'have' spiders on here, but there doesn't seem to have been much Arthropodian demand, until now.)

Perhaps we aren't ready for a solely aracnid thread just yet. Up for a Mollusc one though.
I will keep an eye out for that guide, those wild guides are smashing.
Cheers,
Jim.
