New (to me) hummer behavior (1 Viewer)

Today I was watching the feeder over our deck and saw the usual males swoop in, take a few sips, then swoop away around the house (to the feeder in the back). Then I saw a female, followed by a smaller hummer with female plumage, come from out in the oak tree beyond the finch tube. The larger bird hovered near the feeder and dipped towards it a few times, but didn't drink until the smaller one had taken some nectar. Was this a mama bird educating a fledgling?
