Pheasants in the garden (1 Viewer)

Over the past several years we have seen an increase in the number of pheasants using our rural garden. They are growing in number to the extent that over the past few weeks there are up to a 12 female and three male pheasants in the garden at the same time. Unfortunately they seem to intimidate some of the other birds that we put feed out for (mainly we use hanging feeders although we do have a ground feeder protected by mesh), and have now started eating new shoots off some of our plants. We are dreading the idea of these females breeding and having even more of them spoiling our garden for some of the smaller species. Lovely as they are in small numbers, does anyone know of any way we can discourage these birds coming into the garden without causing them any distress.
