Snake in NW Florida (1 Viewer)

This image was captured at the St. Marks National Wildlife Reserve on the Northwest Florida coast. The little white blobs you see are salt from the water in the Gulf of Mexico which was less than 50 feet from whare I captured this image. Original at

I was suprised to see a snake so close to the salt water.

Can anyone comment on the snakes id and or behavior.

I agree with Nerodia clarkii, they like to live near salty water, like estuaries and salt marshes or in the tidal wrack and mud flats.
