Crested Shrike-tit cartoon bill

David, your cartoon :-O was not quite what I had in mind! (ya flamin' pelican!);)

More like the following evolutionary path below:

Here's some links to a bit more info on these fantastic little characters:

Even over on the Eastern half of the country, you really only see these elusive little fullas in good quality woodland - meaning that they've lost a helluva lot of habitat. (The northern subspecies is endangered).

P.S.
Blazing blue skies here! o:D Unlike the knee deep :frog: snows alot of you folks are mentioning....
It hasn't snowed here in...............well, exactly - never!
Just remember that snow can be really cool though  :'D
Rarity for me - I like to just "do" snow.......very useful for meeting other Ozzies in the middle of the Alps or Himalayas, when holed up in some lonely hut :-
Door opens......"Righto! where are the Ozzies here? - saw your yellow kangaroo / map of Oz out on the trail!" :-O
(Cautionary note: if yer from the "Apple Isles" probably best not to reveal a map of Tassie - that'll get ya a whole 'nuther response!) :D
