Barn Owls vs Tawny Owls (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
Last week on holiday I had the good fortune to have both barn and tawny owls in the vicinity of where I was staying. On one occasion when the tawny owls were calling, a pair of barn owls flew in and drove them off. It got me thinking. Which (if any) of these two types of owl is dominant?

Tawny Owl is the dominant sp. Chris.They usually oust Barn Owls from a breeding site.

Had a pair of Barnies chase off a Tawny when it came too near to nest site.
