Egyptian Geese (1 Viewer)

Hi,
Yesterday I saw, whilst playing golf in West London, a pair of Egyptian Geese. I've never seen before. Can you tell me whether these are likely to be escapees - I find it a little difficult to believe that two 'got away' - or do these geese appear in the UK at this time of year ?

Many thanks
John

They appear in the UK all year round, they are on the British list (type C1)

type C: Species that, although introduced, now derive from the resulting self-sustaining populations.

C1 Naturalized introduced species – species that have occurred only as a result of introduction, e.g. Egyptian Goose Alopochen aegyptiacus

Many thanks for the information, Jeff.
