Hungary October 2016 (1 Viewer)

We are staying at least 5 nights in Hortobagy beginnning of October and was then thinking of going to the Zemplen Hills for 3 nights and Bukk Hills for 1 night before flying back, can anyone say if this is a good plan for October?

How likely it is that we could see Eagle or Ural owl in October?

We are not considering any other places as we want to stay east.

Imperial Eagles wander in winter and quite often wander over Hotobagy, and White-tailed Eagles are not difficult to see on the Hortobagy.
Ural Owl in Zemplen is not easy. You would need local knowledge or help from a local guide.
October is good for the Cranes - very spectacular, Great Bustards, can still be good waders around....depends on the weather. Today (Sunday 2nd) a cold front has just come in with rain and a 10C drop in temperature.....
