Harrier ...err?? (1 Viewer)

I was lucky enough to see this bird of prey perched up on Friday evening and assumed at the time that it was a Marsh Harrier...

It may well be, but comparing this bird to anything I have in my bird books doesn't really look anything like one.

I expect you guys will know.....

Thanks... Ruby :t:

Looks like an immature male, which explains the dark brown on the head. The adult grey is obviously coming through on the wings and tail though, so it's probably at least a couple of years old (old enough to have a go at breeding I would think).

Hi All,

It was at Strumpshaw Fen in Norfolk, around about 18:00 on Friday 30th April.

First time I've ever seen a Harrier perched, a very impressive bird!!!

Rgds.... Ruby
