Goldfinches & Buddleia (1 Viewer)

I have just seen several Goldfinches on our Buddleia eating the seeds from the dead flower heads. I didn't know they would do this.
Usually OH has pruned it to within an inch of it's trunk & there are no flower heads left.
Has anyone else seen Goldfinches or other birds doing this?

Yes- have seen goldfinches in our garden doing the same thing.

I try to leave as many seed heads as I can in the garden for as long as possible. I know you're supposed to prune back Buddleia hard but I usually leave mine until as late in the winter as I can get away with.
