Nice one Si - any shots of this illusive and overlooked species are always special.
So it's not real then :eek!::eek!::-O

any surprises for anyone with the garden birdwatch?
I wa a Robin short of my usual three, but had a Wood Pigeon, not a usual visitor for me.
The Salwarpe Stake-out this morning produced 3 Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Treecreeper, Green & GS Woodpecker, good numbers of Chaffinch, several Goldcrest, 12 Siskin, 15 Lesser Redpoll many tits but no Lesser Pecker.
The Moors Pool was shrouded in mist for much of the morning but birds that could be seen included 2 Mute Swan, 21 Greylag Geese, 2 Shelduck and 40 Cormorant

Redpoll on my feeder, first time for a couple of years.
New to the forum, how do I insert a photo into my post.
Phil
this afternoon the 'cake club' saw:-
Moors
Shoveler 14, Pochard 10 (7 males)
Sailing pool
a pair of mistle thrush
Flashes
Teal 25, shelduck a 3rd bird (the pair from the moors roosted)
Jack snipe and 2 common snipe.
Was the Jack Snipe out feeding or flushed?
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFlushed:eek!:
Shhhh - I wont tell anyone Presumably you were inspecting the fox fence ahead of the work party - more here later.
When I did the WeBS count two weeks ago the Jack flew out of the left hand side of the Third Flash. Unfortunately the changing nature of the shoreline of the second Flash (with less juncas clumps) means Jacks are unlikely to be seen from the hide (even if there was a useable hide 8-P).
