Hi Michael et al,
I was going to post a link to that petition myself, having received an e-mail about it.The Black Sea coast really is a major flyway for migrant birds, and a windfarm in the area could have catastrophic effects.

Hi Pete,

If it comes up in Bulgarian, click on the small UK flag near the top right corner of the page, then you'll get the English language version

Clicked and signed - their own-language homepage took a long while to open-up, though, even with broadband.

Boy, that took ages to load up. Signed it Michael.

I noticed a photo from the Straits of Gibraltar and have to say that Tarifa is a sorry sight to behold. They have totally ruined the area with the massive wind farm they have put there.

Let's hope this petition works.

Hi Michael - thanks for bringing the petition to our attention. I have signed the petition and also registered for their email newsletter - just hope it is in English!!

I am planning to go to Bulgaria in May; it is a surprisingly rich country as regards breeding birds. I had decided to go to see Paddyfield Warbler and Pied Wheatear for my WP list but have now realised that I have a chance of five other species in the country - Pygmy, Tengmalm's and Ural owls, Black-winged Pratincole and Rock Partridge. Plus Megan can get Hazel Grouse. Fairly cheap too.
