I have an Opticron ES 80 GA scope with a HDF ZOOM eyepiece and a Nikon D40x camera. The eyepiece has roll down eye relief
I have been in contact with Opticron and they told me I had two options to be able to combine these. 1/ Buy a Telephotoadator HDF which will give 1150mm(x1.5} 2/ Buy Push-fit Photoadaptor to fit over the eyepiece I have. This will give 1000mm(x1.5) eyepiece set at x20. Can some one enlighten me as to what 1150mm(x1.5) and 1000mm(1.5) means? |

Bernard,
They must be referring to the 1.5x magnification you get with the D40x DX sensor. So multiply the eyepiece magnification or the adapter magnification by 1.5x. This also means that if you use the 50 mm lens approach to digiscope with your D40x it turns it into a 75 mm lens on the scope (and for normal photography too). Neil. |

Thanks for the info. I have ordered the Push-fit Photoadaptor so I will let you know what it does. Bernard |
