There's a few sites I would recommend taking a look at

Nice site guide plus sightings
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...ogels/map.html

Daily sightings with site guide and also archives of monthly sightings so you can look back to March and see what sort of places to go and birds to see at that time of year
http://iowbirds.awardspace.com/IOW.htm

Birding blog of the IOW and other travels etc, also active birdforum member and I'm sure will give better advice than I.

Also there is one RSPB reserve on the Island
http://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves/guid...shes/index.asp

Two places I would recommend at that time of year are West High Down/Needles area and St Catherines point area which is the southern most point. One of my favourite places is also Ventnor area with the downs at its highest point which is an open area and has great views and Dartford warblers. Also Newtown is always worth a visit.

As you can see we're quite well served by birding sites for a small island.

Hope you have a good visit

David

Thanks for the plug David!

I will echo what David has said, re sites, etc. I see he has mentioned Kris and Derek's sites for sightings/places and I'd second those - they are excellent.

Drop me a PM if you want any more info.

Cheers
VB
