Stock Dove or Pigeon Species

I've had this little chap visiting the garden to feed, but I notice he's different to the woodies that I get.

Having looked in a couple of Bird books - I can't decide if he's a Stock Dove or feral type Pigeon. I'm just not sure of his beak for Stock Dove, but the other bits of him suggest it is?

I can't see any obvious pigeon rings on it's legs.

I've attached a selection of shots.

Help! - What is it?

Cheers!

Des

Stock dove - pale bill, dark eye, dainty build, slight dark wing bar, more or less plain grey plumage.

Nice stock dove! At close range, the most strking difference from feral pigeon is the all-dark eye, which seems to give them a friendlier appearance. Compare with feral pigeon:

Also the fairly uniform colouring. A good bird for the garden.

I wish all id pics were this good.

Definitely a Stock Dove, and the eye is a very good indicator at a close range like this.

Thanks Alot!

It was what I thought, but the sharper looking beak made me question.

Great! Another garden Tick!

Cheers!
