Sparrow ID's

First 3 are the same bird takes 3-3-08. Not sure on this one at all.
4th is I think a White Throated Sparrow taken on 3-25-08.

All in New Jersey.

Both birds are Song Sparrows. If you're confused, I'm sure others can point you as to why this is - I'm in a rush right now.

As Alex said, these are all song sparrows. They have coarse streaking on the breast and flanks, and usuallly, as in this case show a dark central spot where the streaks tend to congregate. (White-throated doesn't have streaking). It also has a long tail which is chacteristic of song sparrows. The face has a whitich background with brown stripe behind the eye and a thick dark wedge on each side of the throat (malar). The bill is conical and often more bulky than this bird. Always start with song sparrow when trying to identify sparrows with streaked breasts. If you can't find reasons that it is NOT a song sparrow, then it probably is.
