please not a dunnock

taken today in company with willow and sedge warblers, whitethroat, lesser whitethroat, chiffchaf etc. please not 'just' a dunnock

It's not just a Dunnock. It's a nicely photographed, singing, splendid specimen of a Dunnock if you ask me (or another Dunnock!)

Or "brumarita de padure" in Romanian... Let's see now: "brumarita" it is a derivative from "bruma" which means hoarfrost or rime. And "padure" means forest. So, the name means something like this: rime of the forest. Nice, isn't it?

The bill is slightly foreshortened in this photo, which is why it looks shorter and thicker than a typical dunnock's bill - but it's still a dunnock

dunnocks do have thicker bills than they're credited for, an from this angle, it does look surprisingly thick, but still a normal dunnock bill.
