Hi all:
Hoping you can help with identification. These are probably easy, but I am not great at this. I am using the audobon field guide but am having difficulty telling the differences. If you can definitively identify, can you let me know how? The red-throated bird picture was taken in January, the other picture was taken today. Here is a link to the full-size version of the one with the red-throat. Thanks, Jason |

Anna's all the way around. With few exceptions (except in So CA) any hummer in January will be Anna's. Pic two looks like a female.

As jcwings said, Anna's all the way around. In the bay area Anna's will be the only hummer seen in mid-winter.
