I've been given a copy. It's very good of its type. Illustrations by Norman Arlott, text by Valerie Thom and previosuly published. No Hoopoes or Bee-eaters, and all the information I've read seems correct. So for a beginner this could be quite helpful for common birds (swift/swallow confusion is common). There are inevitably, for what is basically a pamphlet-style book, omissions (alternative plumages, flight views and so on) but, for a newspaper, a reasonable effort. People might move on from it to something more substantial.

Cheers,
