Starling sized bird ID please.
Hi, could someone please ID this bird i spotted in my garden today.
It just rested on the branch for about half an hour oblivious to the food right next to it. http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...3/S7300777.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...3/S7300775.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...3/S7300774.jpg

It looks a little bit strange with that white spot under de bill, but I would say that is a juvenile starling.

Hi All,
I took some photos of juvenile starlings last summer. I'll attach a few here as an example. I left a few logs out with suet hidden from the camera and the starlings had a suet fest for a few weekends. See ya, Dana

Definately a young Starling but still a little unusual.
Got lots of them here at the moment. Last edited by Mary Evelyn : Monday 16th June 2008 at 17:49. |
