Female house sparrow? Penn. USA
This is a female house sparrow right? Or am I mistaken?
Thanks, Matt PS. Sorry for the glare on its head!

Hi Matt
Looks more like a female/juvie House Finch to me. The House Sparrow wouldn't have that kind of streaking.

Hi Matt,
Juvenile Brown-headed Cowbird. A very popular bird on the ID forum this time of year. Female House sparrows would not have streaks on the breast.A female House Finch would have thicker streaks, and a shorter bill with a curved culmen. This bird has thin streaks with a straight, long bill. Best, Jim

Thanks a lot KC and Jim,
I should have known, but yeah the streaking threw me off a bit and I guess the bright light had something to do with it also. My first thoughts were house finch and sparrow...Cowbird never crossed my mind! Thanks Again, Matt
