Birds caught in fishing nets

You may think that this problem is confined to other parts of the world rather than UK waters. For example, albatrosses caught in these enormously long lines set in the southern oceanic waters BUT take a look at this link which shows pictures taken today (21 Jan) of birds in trouble in the waters near Portland Bill in Dorset. They were taken by the warden of the bird observatory there.

thats a reason I hate fishing birds get caught on them I read in the papers last year that a swan got a fishing hoock caught in its bill and the fishing line was all over the swan making it all tangled up and very scared
