Does anyone out there own a Nikon FM3A.
I'm selling my Nikon 600mm f5.6 IFED manual lens and I've an interested party over in the USA, who owns the said camera and was wondering if the lens will be compatable with the camera. I know the lens won't meter on my F60 nor on the latest DSLR's i.e. D100 and Fuji S2pro. It would save a lot of messing around shipping it to the USA and then find it wouldn't be compatable and so have to arrange a return. I'm not sure if the lens is an AI or non-AI or AIS or non AIS, I can never understand all those codes !!!!!!!!!!! Any help gratefully received. |

One of the best places to look is www.nikon.com - avoid european sites as they lack info.. I have found info there for similar problems in buying lenses to go with my D100 and F100. I have been shooting nikons for many years and though not familiar with this combination I suspect the FM3A may be more compatible than the DSLRs or autofocus SLRs as it is the direct replacement of the FM2 series - but old cameras do better wither newer lenses rather than the other way round.
