Country lists for free listing software

Hi all.

I have written a free listing program that has pretty much the full world bird list in it. What I need help with is country lists. I want the app to allow users to select their default country and then it wil allow either to list only birds for that country or for the entire world. Please if any of you have country lists with latin names for any country please can you ssend I to me. Once updated I will post the new version up in VB 2008. The hosting site is currently moving and I will post a link to thee free download once the domain is moved.

P.s. this is a no-catch free download. no expiry date, no adds or popups, no need to register, no spam mail just free, free, free!!!

Hi Doug

We've been attempting to solve similar problems with BUBO Listing www.bubo.org/listing, a site which allows users to record and share all sorts of lists from around the world. The easiest accessible source is Avibase http://www.bsc-eoc.org/avibase/avibase.jsp. We've found quite a few errors with their data and generally take a different approach in using each country's national authority (where one exists), as the keepers of the 'official' country lists. This is a lot more time-consuming but we believe is much more preferable for listers.

Must get around to doing a South African list soon...
