trumpeter/tundra swan,o.h.m., manitoba, canada
Hi All,
Just got back a marsh near my home. Two swans flew directly over me.Got very good looks at them with my binoculars because they were just coming off the water. All black bill no yellow spot on lores. So they are Trumpeters?Skeptical though not very common here in Manitoba but have been seen at this marsh before. Also had my bjam ipod handy and compared both swans calls with what I heard and sounded more like Trumpeters. Darrell

If they sound like Trumpeters, and they look like Trumpeters, then they probably were Trumpeters. Sometimes, however, the yellow on the lores of Tundras isn't very visible.
