Makes me wonder if the HT is their strongest seller or lowest quantity of manufactured units available at this time.

I've only ever seen one other HT in the field, so I would think the latter.

Zeiss Terra ED 8X42

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/588...oof-prism-gray

Zeiss Terra ED 8X42.... $222.15 SHIPPED. Best price I've ever seen for this binocular. It's gray instead of black but who cares? I can't imagine a better binocular for this budget.

Wanted to edit and mention that Midway has several OTHER good binocular buys on their site.

Optics Planet is doing a 10% off coupon code promotion right now through April 3rd on orders of $50 or more for most items.

Use the check out code of FOOL, and that is no April Fools joke!

Just wanted to give folks a heads up, this weekend is the Cape May Bird Observatory's annual optics sale. Every year I post pics/info on the bargains I find down there. They typically have some silly prices on popular models (I remember both the Zeiss Conquest and Terra, for example, being marked down way below anything I have seen anywhere else). They also have used binoculars for sale also as they accept trade-ins.

This is the first year that you don't have to be a member of the NJ Audubon or CMBO to shop on Saturday morning which is when most of the best deals are found. You do have to be there to buy, especially on the first day, but if there are any deals left at the end of the weekend then they do phone orders.

Here is the link:

Gunut,

Yep, right between the EL SV and the Canon IS !?

Since I can hand hold my 10X42 and 10X50 well, just never really considered having an 8X in that 42mm size, except for the lighter 30\32mms'. I Really loved the EL 8.5X42 SV, but at 1\12 the price, I'll be very happy with the Terra (for now)!

SWFA 10% OFF April 18th, 2017 Tax Sale

SWFA is showing a 10% off most everything sale for April 18th, 2017 following tax day. No code is required. On sale items are excluded. The discount automatically shows up in the shopping cart. It did not work on a couple of Swaro's that I tested but it did work on Nikon and Vortex Viper that I tested.

Thanks for the heads up Bruce. I've been looking for the gray Victory SF models that have been on closeout. I was busy putting together the coin to pick a pair up, and now that I am finally ready with the money, I cannot find a place that has them.

I may settle for these.

As the owner of 8x42 HT's, trust me, you won't be "settling". Personally, I think the HT's are the better of the two.

I also managed to snag a pair of these from MidwayUSA before they sold out.

Their crazy clearance price of $184.31 on these Zeiss Terra ED 8x42's was simply too good of a deal to pass up. It has been a few years since I treated myself to some new glass. Hopefully these don't disappoint.

Now comes the hard part of waiting for them to show up in the mail..

Mine made it in yesterday. Pleasently surprised with how nice they are.
