I bought my 10x42 SEs from Adorama. I had googled Nikon 10x42SE and followed a link through Amazon where Adorama had by far the lowest price. Rather than purchase them through Amazon, I googled Adorama and got their phone number. The Adorama guy was friendly, in a fast, impatient New York kind of way. I mentioned that I had seen the SE on Amazon, he asked me what price they showed, was gone a half a minute, then said they did have a NIB pair that he would sell at that price.

I didn't want my wife to see another binoc purchase on our credit card statement so offered to send a cashires check, his solution was better, I could pay a small down payment with my credit card and he would send them out COD. About four days later the UPS guy shows up with a well packaged, NIB Nikon SE, I had a cashires check in hand and everybody's happy. I would definitely do business with Adorama again. I have noticed that prices vary greatly from day to day on Amazon. I suggest that you keep trying them day by day and jump on one when you see it at an attractive price.

CameralandNY is running daily specials (actually they run until they sell out) each day as they head towards the holidays.

http://24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads...gonew/1#UNREAD

Today's post is for Minox BL 8x42 BR Part# 62152 Green @ only $249.99. This binocular is regularly $389.00.

22oz 42mm ... eagle has them for $449

So if you need a lightweight 42mm (introduced in 2005)... reviews at

http://www.minoxuk.co.uk/reviews.htm

They also had Pentax Papillo demos (essentialy NIB) both 6.5x and 8.5x for $89 shipped a couple of days ago

http://24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads.../2#Post2625312

They disappear from the website when they're all gone.

Of course I ordered one....no idea what I'll use it for
Interesting deal.

They also have Promaster ELX ED 8x42 for $399 and 10x42 for $450 (I can't recall if that was mentioned above ... it probably was).

Downside is ...

They use a Paypal shopping cart that does accept credit cards but also asks for the last 4 digits of your SSN and DOB as part of a credit card payment. I know it's Paypal (at least it looked like Paypal!) but I'm not going to give that info to anyone on a net that I really don't trust.

All part of Paypals efforts to convince you to use them and not the credit cards directly.

Doesn't matter if you already have PayPal. Very common for a lot of us who do collecting/buying/selling for different hobbies.
Unfortunately, I got the last set of those 8x40s, and they have no case or box, so I got an additional discount and shipping upgrade(basically I got a display for $59 total), but that would appear to be the end of that particular bargain.

Congrats. That's a great deal.

I do have a Paypal account but I dislike giving up all the advantages of paying with a credit card when you pay with paypal.

Eagle Optics eBay store has being having some demo Sandpiper scopes (OK, not bins but 1/2 a bin) on sale recently for $179.

The had two straights and one angled but are down to one straight.

Not a bad price.

http://stores.ebay.com/Eagle-Optics

I hear the Sandpiper is EOLed in the near future (that's why Camera Land has pretty much all of the straight stock) so we may see more bargains in this scope in the new year too.

Very nice scope for the money.

Here are the Celestron's at $175 http://cgi.ebay.com/CELESTRON-10X42-...3A1%7C294%3A50

Or, do the easy thing and go to ebay, type in celestron regal in the search terms and they appear like magic.

I see EO is now selling Minox BL 8x42 BR in green at $259

http://www.eagleoptics.com/index.asp?pid=4638
Field of View 341 ft./1000 yds.
Eye Relief 19.5mm
Close Focus 8 ft.
Weight 22.9 oz.
Dimensions (HxW) 5.7 x 5.0 in.
Weatherproofing Waterproof/Fogproof

Interesting they quote list as $350 but they have black Minox BL 8x42 BR in green at $439 ($539 list). Something odd there.

http://www.eagleoptics.com/index.asp?pid=4570
Field of View 341 ft./1000 yds.
Eye Relief 19.5mm
Close Focus 8 ft.
Weight 22.9 oz.
Dimensions (HxW) 5.7 x 5.0 in.
Weatherproofing Waterproof/Fogproof

Specs (on the web site) are identical ... so are these the same bins or is the black a revision of the green?

There is absolutely no difference between the black and green BL (apart from the colour!).

Minox HG 8.5x43 BR

you can sell the camera..for 50?

If they had the 390ft fov like the EL, I might be tempted to trade some lower priced junk.

no way man, that camera is a $300 value!!

I was all ready to get the HG 10x43 over the Stokes 10x42, but didn't see a $500 difference.

Bushnell Legend bargains!

Sports Authority is giving away some Legend roofs today and tomorrow.

http://www.sportsauthority.com/produ...entPage=search

If you look in the drop down list, the 12x50 are $35 and the 8x42 are $28!

If you spend over $100, you can use coupon code TSAJMVT for an extra $25 off.

The 8x42 are about $210 on Amazon and the 12x50 are $260!
