I just looked at the taxonomy page for this genus which has been referred to the family Cardinalidae. This is in disagreement with Clements, which we have otherwise used for family level decisions, but I am tempted to say that this should stay anyway. The reason is that I read the SACC proposal (http://www.museum.lsu.edu/~Remsen/SACCprop318.html), and they said the evidence was strong; Rasmus has as far as I remember said the same thing for a while in the taxonomy forum. The only thing that would be needed is a link to the Traupidae where this genus has traditionally been placed. Cheers Niels Last edited by njlarsen : Sunday 19th October 2008 at 23:15. |
