I'm just back from The Gambia -this year they have had very good rains which have continued well into October. The seasonal marshes are full, everything is green & no shortage of insect life.

Doesn't mean there won't be a drought next year though!

I'm a bit confused as to the link between Polar Ice-caps and West Africa, and how Eco-tourism prevents drought!

The weatherman on our local radio announced that a recent Canadian survey of the Polar ice cap revealed it is actually getting colder there not warmer, since then not a word about it in the media.
I'm not sure we aren't being conned by governments, business and so-say environmental bodies for their own agendas, (tax, profits and funding).

I see very little of the weather patterns predicted for Britain a couple of years ago eg. hotter, dryer weather, quite the opposite.

I'm rapidly being converted to the other scientists' view that it's all a natural cycle, as weather pattern always have been.

The prediction is for more extreme weather. 'Global warming' doesn't just automatically mean warmer weather.

ps. john-henry - are you a Johnny Cash fan?
