Bohemian Waxwing, no doubt. Maybe in the next months I will see some here in Bucharest. They were here in the winter 2004-2005 and in the next spring...

Same winter as the big influx into Glasgow that really got me into birdwatching. I remember standing there, outside the chemistry building, gobsmacked as hundreds of them were wolfing down berries from the trees on the road.
That and I saw a massive flock of Redwings on the way back home that day.

Nice remember. In the same winter we had here, in a park, a relative large flock of Fieldfares and Redwings. It was the last large flock of Thrushes seen by me in Bucharest during the winter... Last winter I saw here in Bucharest no more than 20-30 Thrushes. Maybe this year will be better for birdwatching in the woods/parks...

I was at a resturant after a wedding in the middle of glasgow and went out to get some fresh air and there was hundreds on five rowan trees that could hardly stand up with the weight of the birds.

Kristoffer -these bird are highly interuptive and one year there could be millions outside your house and two years later you might not see any.
