Moth in a Hampshire snowstorm
I was watching a football match last night - it was cold & snowing (not really a snowstorm but reasonably heavy) when what appeared to be a medium sized yellow or brown moth flew past. I thought it was a small leaf at first but then realised that it was alive and navigating itself around!! The floodlights may have affected the apparant colour. I thought of Winter Moth but has any one any other ideas?

Thanks to you both. It could be either as what I saw was a 'floodlit' moth about 20 feet away in falling snow while trying to watch a football match! I think both of these suggestions are more likely than mine as either could have appeared yellowy under bright light perhaps. I'll never know. However thanks and good website too.
