a lovely wander in cold winter sun.

plenty of the usual suspects in feral pigeons, black headed gulls and so on, but 4 mistle thrushes were very active and vocal, perhaps disturbed or excited by the arrival of a flock of fieldfares and redwings down by the rowing clubhouse. there seemed to be more redwings - maybe a couple of dozen, to a handful of fieldfares. the berries there will soon be done though.

a cormorant migrated up and down the river, disturbed by a lone sculler. a group of mallards, c.12, ignored him and the resident feral goose flock was relatively quiet.

think there was a goosander male by the weir - distinctly dark head, clearly cut off from a white body which had a flush of pink on the flanks and grey black mottling on the upperback.

feral pigeons everywhere and a three legged dog.
