Zeiss 65 for Digiscoping

Hello,

Is the Zeiss diascope 65mm a good scope for visual-digiscoping work?
What eyepiece is the best for visual and for digiscoping
What digital camera compact is good for this spotting, there is some adapter exclusively for this telescope and digital compact camera?
Is the 65mm of Zeiss a compact telescope?

Thank you for your opinions.

Hello!

I have a 65 mm diascope. It is a very fine instrument. I cannot say much about digiscoping; I have not tried it.
Do you know this site:
http://www.zeiss.de/C12567A80033F8E4...25728A004ADC71 ?
On the right side you find a downlaod option of a Zeiss brochure, entitled "fascination digiscoping".
I think you may also order a printed version.
It will probably give you some useful information and answer some of your questions.

Regards, Thomas

Hola Paul!

Here are a few contacts to help you gather information for your questions -

Contact "Madrid Digiscoping Center" in Madrid for help and advice, they are experienced in this area,

http://www.digiscopingcenter.es/

Also contact Santiago at Spainbirds, he uses Zeiss to digiscope and will be able to help you

http://http://www.spainbirds.com/

Also Adolfo Marpez, he uses Zeiss and has written books on the subject of digiscoping in Spanish

http://http://zeiss-excopesa.com/blogs/adolfo-marpez/

I hope this helps you with plenty of information in your language

Good Luck!

Paul

Yes it's fine, you are welcome to check my gallery or search the gallery for *Zeiss 65mm* to view other examples.

The 23 X is probably "best" for digiscoping but I use the 15-45 zoom for nearly all my digiscoping.

Most small digital cameras will work, I use a Canon A95, the modern equivalent would be the A590, the Nikon 5100 also works and many others will work too, the best thing is to try out the one you want and check for vignetting with the scope, ideally you want to use the least possible zoom on the camera.

Is the 65mm of Zeiss a compact telescope?

It's nowhere near as small as a Nikon ED50 but it's about on a par with other 65mm scopes.

Thank you for your opinions.

Thanks All for the responses and opinions, anyone have compared this scope with others in the same ligue, or with compact spotting like Nikon ED 50 or ED60 III..?

Thanks again,
Paul
