Question Sacks of Bird Seed Needed

Hello,
We're planning a trip to the UK to stock up on bird seed (as well as Heinz beans - you'll understand if you've ever had French baked beans!).
Could anyone please recommend a seller/wholsaler who sells feed by the sack - sunflower seeds and peanuts - from the Portsmouth area up to about Slough?
If advertising is a prob - please could you PM me.
Many thanks
Jen :-)

Hi Jen

Pops_uk (or some similar name - sorry Glyn) told me about this place:

http://www.robharvey.com/

This is quite close to Birdworld near Farnham, to give you a sort of landmark. It might be an idea to email beforehand with details of your order, then they can have it ready for you. We called in a while ago as we had been in a Garden Centre close by, and the person in charge at the time had a great deal of difficulty in finding me some pinhead oatmeal - had to make a couple of phone calls before it was sorted out. Let me know if you decide to go there, as we had a bit of a problem finding it - but it's really easy when you know the details.

I checked for Slough and Portsmouth on Autoroute just to get my bearings - and Rob Harvey is exactly on the suggested route!!!!!

Thanks all,
Yes I looked at CJ Wildfood and my usual supplier - Vine House Farm and they are just too far.
Elizabeth - the list of seed from Rob Harvey is amazing - I might not have any room for the beans! (and the child is demanding macaroni cheese).
I'll give them a shout before we go.
Cheers me dear
Jen :-)

I presume the RSPB at Pulborough Brooks (nr Petworth W. Sussex) and WWT at Arundel sell food. Titchwell and Welney certainly do.

Jen,

Wilkinson's, a hypermarket/hardware store, do a limited range of wild birdfoods products selling; Peanuts 1Kg @ £1.25, Sunflower Hearts 1Kg @ £1.25, and "Wild Bird Seed" 2 Kg @ £1.35. They also stock Sunflower seeds and a few other items loose in bins. They're well priced and usually well stocked though they don't sell "sacks" just 1Kg bags, but you'll be hard pressed to beat their prices! stores in Portsmouth and Slough. http://www.wilko.co.uk/index.htm

Enjoy your trip,

Lee
