Muck Boots
Does anyone have any experience with the Muck Boots in the field? Especially, are the boots comfortable, with ample arch support for a whole day afield and how does the "cloth-like" uppers withstand wear and tear from briars and such?
Thanks T |

Yes. Just be careful that you don't fall into a muddy muck hole which I did with the small green garden boots. They would have worked better with a vibram type sole but they are very comfortable and keep you feet warm If I had worn the hoser muck boots which I also have I probably would not have fallen in They are not made of cloth they are like a waterproof rubber type material like this

Muck Boots
HI,
I have a pair of The Muck Boot Company's Wellingtons which, OK, are expensive at £60 a pair but I can only say that I've never had a finer Wellington boot! They keep me warm and dry in all the UK weather throws at me when I'm out of doors. They do other styles besides Wellingtons and my Wife has their riding boots which have the same benefits but look a bit more stylish. Hope this helps IDIC |

I don't know if you would like these or if they would even be available to you across the pond, but the NEOS Trekker Overboots are great and you can use them in a variety of situations over your favorite hiking shoes. They run about $69.00 USD on the average and I know quite a few people who use them - they are highly recommend for muck, water and snow type situations. They keep your feet/shoes dry and you can pull them all the way up or scrunch them down lower. Gives a little room for variety in calf size which some muck boots don't. Just a thought!

Satisfied Customer
I've had my pair of Muck Boots for about six years, and I still brag about them to my birding companions (even those who have already heard the whole story). They're very comfortable for all-day use, and plenty warm.
The outer layer of fabric has gotten nicked by greenbriar, bramble, etc. a few times, but the damage is only cosmetic. I think that ABA Sales no longer carries Muck Boots. I'd be curious about the reasons for that, but I'm still completely satisfied with my long-ago purchase.
