Redpolls,Akham Bog ,North Yorks ,England.

Saw these redpolls at Askham Bog NR,York on sunday 25/1/09;Am happy that 2 are definitely lessers but other 2 are paler, greyer faced and have whitish wingbars as opposed buffy." oipinions on 'Yorkshire forum' suggest these 2 are still lessers, but i'm still unsure when I look in fieldguides. If they are lessers, are they still too contrasty and streaked to be Mealys???
Thanks in advance for your help;Ps in the field ,all the birds were skittish and I didn't really get a 'white 'rump.

I'd suggest Lesser Redpoll here... the second picture looks most promising but I suspect that is due to the light, exposure etc.

I agree with Josh, the cinnamon colour tone on the breast and flanks is typical for Lesser.
