kowa photo adaptor
Thinking of purchasing a canon 300d, are lenses for these cameras specially made for dslr or can any canon lens be used!! I also possess an 800mm photo adaptor for my kowa scope which I was planning to utilise (could get some decent results with a 6 mp camera) any feedback appreciated thanks

Andy, I believe any Canon-fit lens can be used on the 300D. The lenses made specifically for that camera, however, cannot be used on other Canon cameras.
I'm not sure about the photo adapter, as I haven't gone down that route yet. I was thinking of something similar for my 10D, but have still to get used to using the camera with a normal lens (I chose Sigma for mine).

Thanks for the quick reply diane, I also have a digiscoping setup with a cp 4500, but for those closer birds that cant be digiscoped thought the adaptor might be useful, still not convinced about the quality of the eagle eye adaptor, ive got some half decent shots in the past using a normal slr and the kowa photo attachment, shame i cant borrow one of someone for the day!! (a 300d that is)

Hi Jamie,
I believe the bit you need is the Kowa TSNPA2 which is the 800 mm photo adapter. I was looking at getting one when I had my Kowa scope but still haven't yet shelled out for the DSLR ![]() I believe you need a T-ring to couple it with whichever camera you need it for.

As long as you can get a T2 mount for the camera, then you can attach it to the scope. The problem will be that the camera may lose a lot of its functions, - metering and auto focus for example.
