3 Gulls Cornwall April 09
Hi guys,
I am useless at Gull ID'ing especially juveniles, any help with these and my next 2 to follow would be appreciated. Many thanks, Pete

hi pete,
they're herring gulls: 1-2 are first winters (2cy), 3 is a 2nd winter/summer type (3cy). structure and covert pattern are the clues. more details found e.g. here: http://www.gull-research.org/hg/HG2CY03.htm (for 2cy march) and here: http://www.gull-research.org/hg/HG3CY03.htm (for 3cy march) regards,

Thanks Lou.
I was hoping one was a Glaucous but thought I was wrong. I find them so difficult but when I saw the Iceland in Cornwall I could tell it wasn't a Herring, so I take it a Glaucous would stand out as different too. Thanks for taking the time to help me
