What plover (Cyprus)
Just to confirm the ID on this one.
It looks like a ringed plover, but its bill was black, much like the little ringed plover, but it's lacking the yellow eye ring. This is a winter bird, in Cyprus. My bird book says that ringed plovers don't visit Cyprus and my best bet would be a little ringed plover, and that winter ringed plovers have dull bills, but this one was black. Should I write it down as a winter ringed plover and assume that my book is wrong? |
